TOMOSHIBI CAMP（太陽ヶ丘）

Urban-style campground inside Kyoto Prefectural Yamashiro Sogo Undo Koen (Taiyogaoka) park in Uji, about 15 min from Uji-Nishi IC. Plot sites (65 m2), wood-deck sites, large viewpoint sites, an 85 m2 power site, a solo free site and fully equipped hands-free sites; showers and the park's playground are included, with zip line, trampolines and summer water athletics nearby. Long stays of up to 50 hours on weekends.

Good to know

Complete check-in at reception before entering; no reserving spots beforehand. Day camping 12:00-20:00 at the same rates as overnight. Park open 9:00-17:00 with 24-hour security patrol.

Access

About 15 min from Uji-Nishi IC; roughly 1 hour by car from Kyoto, Osaka, Nara and Shiga. Parking is away from the sites; a light-truck transport service runs 9:00-17:00.
